"She’s witty, she’s wonderful, she’s the gay man’s Wesbian!" raved Elmer Fudd. With 20 years of gay stand up experience at her hip, comedian Shann Carr weaves a storytelling style that makes you feel like you're sitting in your living room with an eccentric friend who has your whole dinner party in stitches.  

Since 2000 Shann has been the sole lesbian entertainer on over 20 Atlantis cruises. “That’s right 2000 gay men… and me…on a boat!” She knows her gay men and they love her. “My mom was worried sending me out to sea. She consoled herself by guessing that if there were problems, women and children would get off first. I laughed and told her ‘On this trip I think twinkies and queens are first. Heck, they’re expecting the dyke to fix the ship before it goes down!’ ”

Carr is also the Executive Producer of GirlMoxie Studios. Since 1990 she has produced a comedy series of live shows, TV and film, all under the title “Out For Laughs.” Recently GirlMoxie released "OUT FOR LAUGHS-ON THE OCEAN" which is a Docu-Comedy that follows three comedians, a drag queen a piano player and a hypnotist working and frolicking on the gay cruise ship circuit.

She travels from Palm Springs Ca. where she resides with her 2.5 revolving pets.

Given the room in the venue, her grand finale will blow your nipples off when she impersonates people on the dance floor. These include “The couple that's been together too long,” “a drag queen” and “the person whom you can tell would be good in bed!”

Pistol and Enema are running out of positive adjectives to describe the talent, entertainment and hospitality at La Te Da. This season it has become "The Gay Place To Be" for those who want the best entertainment in Key West. We are fortunate to have a group of people who are really pulling together to give our community the best.

Shann Carr's informance (our word for telling it like it is and with a flair on stage) at the Crystal Room was so chic and resourcefully sidesplitting, that Pistol and Enema both got moist with laughter! The evening could have been titled One Human Yarn. Remember the bathroom graffiti that said "My mother made me a homosexual and she will make you one too if you buy her the yarn?" Well, without any pretentiousness and complete, total disrespect to everyone, Shann is a professional weaver of hilarious up to date stories. Her tales create visions of sugar plum fairies and dirty sluts to make you laugh without control.

There is no sacred ground with Shann, thank God, so her humor is bright and refreshing in an era of hyper-political correctness. She looked grand with her sultry persona tucked into a Tuxedo Dress. The dance number she performed just freaked the room out, and makes her, the Best Lesbiterian comic we have seen! The mixed audience made enough noise to create one of those special PRECIOUS MOMENTS, without the plaster molds. What a brilliant performance! From slutty to just dishing, Shann molds the audience to Key West with localized stories and treats that draw you toward her and make you want to give her a big hug.

She is scheduled to return for a special Comedy Festival in June at La Te Da, and we can't wait! Don't miss her, she's crazy fun!
